Description Join Health Education and Physical Education Coordinators from across the state to develop and share strategies that promote student health and wellness and its direct connection to academic achievement. This meeting will provide an opportunity for regional collaboratives to reconnect and plan group agendas for the year ahead. Update information about federal, state, and regional initiatives, resources and success stories that will have a positive impact on your work.
 
Objectives As a result of taking part in this workshop, participants will:
  		• Receive updates pertaining to school health and physical education policy and legislation.
  		•  Expand awareness of the significant role health education and physical education play in a coordinated approach to overall school health.
  		•  Identify national and state research, best practices and successes that emphasize and incorporate nutrition education as an important component of health and physical education curricula.
  		•  Access support, tools and strategies for improving nutrition education programs and partnerships in their local schools and districts as important elements of overall health and success of students and the school community.
  		• Learn about the new Guidelines for the Sexual Health Education Component of Comprehensive Health Education and how to integrate them into district programs.
  		• Interact with colleagues from your region and develop ways to work together and support each other’s programs and outcomes.
