Description This workshop provides new and interesting methods to teach the concepts of electricity and magnetism. Using inquiry-based investigations and science notebooks, these lessons are designed to develop student ideas and understanding of magnetism. In addition to lighting a bulb, investigate circuits which produce motion, sound and magnetic effects to complete the study of electricity.
 
Objectives As a result of taking part in this workshop, participants will:
  • Develop an understanding of the principles of electricity and magnetism required for CT Science Standard 4.4.
  • Practice a variety of inquiry based investigations and the Embedded Task, Go With the Flow.
  • Receive new lessons introducing Electricity and Magnetism concepts.
