ELL Strategies for Small Groups Tier 2 Instruction

Description Workshop participants will explore the different levels of English language development and the attributes you can expect at these different levels. We will look at many strategies, lesson ideas and learning games that will help ELLs with English language acquisition and help them to gain acess to the academica curriculum. Particular focus will be on activities that can be used in a small group setting or one-on-one. These strategies are appropriate for the focused content of Tier 2 instruction. We will explore some of the commercial materials available and how to best use them. This session helps fulfill the 15 hour CEU requirement for the teaching of reading.
 
Objectives As a result of taking part in this workshop, participants will:
  		• Understand the different attributes at different stages of English language acquisition.
  		•  Use new materials and methods to build listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in ELLs.
