Description The Connecticut State Department of Education presents the Connecticut Assessment Forum entitled "Student Assessment in Connecticut: Where We Are and Where We Are Going". The purpose of this forum is to cover persistent and emerging topics in student assessment and the use of assessments to inform student learning. The intended audiences for this conference include Connecticut educators and administrators. Topics will include benchmark assessments, formative assessments and performance tasks, student growth models, Connecticut School Reform, and the Common Core Standards.
 
Objectives As a result of taking part in this workshop, participants will:
  • be more informed about national policies, common core standards, and assessment
  • learn about emerging technological innovations in assessment, data access and data analysis
  • learn about interim and national assessments, formative assessments, benchmark assessments, and NAEP
  • Understand the uses of the assessments in the state\'s comprehensive assessment system.
  • Interpret student growth and set targets.
  • interpret the student assessment data housed on the state website
