Science Council Meeting

Description Brad Fountain guest presentation: Getting Your Hands Dirty with Discovery Education Science. Participants will learn how using Discovery Science in the classroom can bring even the most reluctant student to the table by getting down and dirty in the pursuit of knowledge. This session will show you the power of using simulations and interactives to either introduce or reinforce the hands-on experience. Discovery Science can tie it all together in a nice, neat package that all students will want to unwrap! If you have not tried Discovery Science, this is an excellent introduction.

Objectives As a result of taking part in this workshop, participants will:
  • Discovery Education Science powers your elementary or middle school science classroom with up-to-date, standards-based virtual labs, simulations, reading passages and more, coupled with a real-time assessment component that measures student progress.
  • Organized around an inquiry framework and covering physical, earth and space, and life sciences, Discovery Education is designed to encourage exploration, stimulate critical thinking and deepen understanding of science.
  • Educators can easily find appropriate resources to guide student learning.
